Valley Phuture Phenoms AAU Program was established in the fall of 2018 by its director and team coaches, Darrell Johnson, Dewuan Johnson, and Melissa Bigornia. The AAU Program formerly existed as WRSports from 2012 – 2018. As the Head Program Coach, Darrell Johnson oversaw its growth from just a 17 & under and 15 and under teams, to a program with multiple teams in age groups from 12 & under – 18 & under. As life has taught us all, an ending of anything creates a new opportunity and a new beginning for another – thus the Valley Phuture Phenoms has the opportunity to begin with a new direction and focus.
The goal of the Valley Phuture Phenom Program also known as Valley Ice is simple: We want to exist as a program for the players, by the players. Our program puts the needs and requirements of the players first.
· We coach in the best interest of the player.
· We teach in the best interest of the player.
· We discipline in the best interest of the player.
· Our goals are to develop your sons and daughters on and off the basketball court individually.
With this individual focus, each player will develop talents to contribute to overall team effort.
Skills on the court are only one aspect of a Valley Phuture Phenom player. We are proud to announce that 59% of our players (17 total out of 29) have and maintain a 3.5 GPA or above. It is critical that our players and parents understand that a High School and College education are MANDATORY. Playing college basketball IS NOT. Our primary focus through training and practice sessions are on basketball fundamentals. Valley Phuture Phenoms and every other AAU team have talent, but we stress maximizing a player’s athleticism and mental approach to the game.
· Know specific situations and the proper play/decision in each case.
· Know when to take a shot and be aggressive.
· Know proper court positioning for rebounding, shooting, etc.
· We stress understanding THE GAME.
· Simply put….KNOW YOUR CRAFT.
Our program (Central Valley based) is expanding its reach to bring in a variety of communities together as Valley Ice players are coming from Merced, Tracy, Stockton, Modesto, Sonora, and Manteca. Through the representation of various cities around the Central Valley, Valley Phuture Phenoms is creating a melting pot of many races.

Over the years, we have won several championships and tournaments. We are proud of our accomplishments and always aim to perform our best on the field. The most important lessons taught by our program is the lesson of teaching to give. We donate to many needed family's and organizations who are unfortunate. Haven of Peace Women Shelter has been the recipient of yearly donations from Valley Phuture Phenoms.
